Meet Michaela

From a young age Michaela was filled with a passion for creativity and a desire to work with people. Her enthusiasm for creating beautiful spaces can be traced to her close relationship with her grandma, also an interior designer. Michaela has always admired her graceful guidance with clients and deep love for the home and design. Michaela's calling is to share her love for people through design. After a childhood filled with building floor plans in her bedroom out of jenga blocks, Michaela packed her umbrella and headed from sunny California to Seattle to study interior design in college. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Interior Design from Seattle Pacific University and her Associates of Arts degree in Interior Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.

While in college, Michaela started her design and lifestyle blog in 2010. What started as a way to document her studies and school projects, is now a daily journal sharing decorating ideas, client projects, fashion and entertaining posts, and glimpses into her own home.

Michaela’s goal is to make people and families fall in love with their homes, no matter how big or small the renovation. A true believer in the home and the life that unfolds in those four walls, she is dedicated to creating beautiful and functional spaces so people can live the most meaningful lives. Michaela loves to track down that one-of-a kind piece, help you find gorgeous, custom fabric to make your pillows pop, and work with builders from the beginning stages of the design process to ensure a well-designed place to call home. Whether you are near or far, Michaela offers design services perfectly suited for you!

A California girl at heart, Michaela lives in West Michigan with her new husband and Australian Labradoodle puppy, Lincoln. Her loves include bowling and eating Mexican food with her husband, enjoying newlywed life, working in the youth group at church, going into open houses on the weekends, exploring nearby parks, hosting gatherings in their small home, arranging flowers, teaching The Bloom Workshop across the country, spending time near the water, visiting family in California and soaking in the beautiful moments all around her.

Her design work has been recognized in Style Me Pretty, Rue Magazine, Ruffled, 100 Layer Cake, the Glitter Guide, The Inspired Room, The Wedding Chicks and Martha Stewart Crafts.

Michaela would be happy to work with you in creating a home where you love living life! Contact her today to get started.
